MAY 30, 2025

On the evening of Thursday, May 29, Trapt turned Summerville’s Trolley Pub into a haven for acoustic rock fans. As part of their ongoing Acoustic Sessions tour, the band swapped amps for unplugged guitars. This shift offered a raw and intimate performance that connected powerfully with the audience.

Known for their early 2000s rock anthems, Trapt surprised fans with emotionally charged, stripped-down renditions of signature songs. These included “Headstrong,” “Echo,” and “Who’s Going Home With You Tonight.” The softer arrangements allowed the band’s lyrics to take center stage. Lead singer Chris Taylor Brown’s vocals shone in the spotlight.

Local fan Madison, who attended the show, captured the experience on video. Her footage, featured on our Instagram, offers a rare inside look at the band’s acoustic transformation. This reflects the personal atmosphere of the night, where the boundary between band and crowd all but disappeared.

Formed in Los Gatos, California, in the late 1990s, Trapt rose to national attention with their 2002 debut album, Trapt. Their debut included the chart-topping hit “Headstrong.” The song became a rock radio staple and helped define the sound of the decade.

Now more than 20 years into their career, Trapt continues to evolve. Their stop in Summerville wasn’t just another tour date. Instead, it was a celebration of musical resilience and artistic growth. Frontman Chris Taylor Brown, who co-founded the band in high school, remains its creative anchor. He blends powerful vocals with enduring passion.

The Summerville performance proved that while the volume may be lower, Trapt’s emotional impact is louder than ever. Fans left not just entertained, but moved—reminded of the timeless connection between music and memory.
