Overview:

Rob Zombie, known for his heavy metal roots and haunting cinematic universe, has brought his unmistakably dark aesthetic to Kent, Connecticut. His debut gallery exhibition, “What Lurks On Channel X?”, is now open at The Morrison Gallery through November 16. Zombie and his wife, actress Sheri Moon Zombie, also returned on October 31 to take part in Kent’s annual Halloween Costume Contest hosted by 45 On Main Coffee, Chocolate & Creamer.

A New Chapter for a Horror Icon

Rob Zombie — born Robert Bartleh Cummings in 1965 — has built a reputation as one of the most distinctive creative forces in American entertainment. Before moving into filmmaking, he first made his mark as the frontman of White Zombie. The band fused industrial sounds with horror imagery to create a cult following in the early 1990s. His solo career continued to push boundaries with albums like Hellbilly Deluxe and Educated Horses. These works blended hard-hitting riffs with cinematic flair.

Zombie’s move into filmmaking in the 2000s only deepened his cultural impact. His debut feature House of 1000 Corpses (2003) and its acclaimed sequel The Devil’s Rejects (2005) introduced audiences to his grim, chaotic storytelling style. He went on to direct the 2007 Halloween remake. Additionally, the witchy psychological thriller The Lords of Salem (2012), and the stylized reimagining of The Munsters (2022).

Each film is a visceral experience — steeped in 1970s grindhouse energy, classic monster movie references, and unflinching visual artistry.

“What Lurks On Channel X?” – From the Screen to the Canvas

Now, Zombie’s creative vision takes on a new dimension. “What Lurks On Channel X?” marks his first public gallery exhibition. This allows fans and art lovers alike to step into the textures, imagery, and influences that drive his world. Presented at The Morrison Gallery in Kent, Connecticut, the show runs through November 16, 2025.

Zombie’s mix of horror, surrealism, and satire translates powerfully to canvas and photography. This offers a rare glimpse into the mind of one of modern pop culture’s most singular voices.

The Morrison Gallery is also hosted the Halloween Costume Contest on October 31. Rob Zombie and Sheri Moon Zombie appeared in person, making it a must-attend event for fans of horror, art, and all things spooky.
