Surf report: Southwest swell builds through the weekend
Swell Magnet’s forecast, updated October 15, calls for a relatively slow start Saturday, with surf around waist high or slightly larger before a fresh southwest swell begins filling in. Better-exposed breaks could see inconsistent chest-high sets as the day progresses.
By Sunday morning, the forecast calls for shoulder- to head-high sets at the best south-facing breaks, with smaller waves at less-exposed locations. Those larger sets are a regional outlook, rather than a forecast for every Los Angeles beach. Swell Magnet
Morning conditions are expected to offer the cleaner window both days, with light onshore winds developing later. Surfers should check their specific break’s live camera, tide and updated forecast before paddling out, as swell exposure can produce very different conditions along the same stretch of coast.
Event schedules, ticket availability and forecasts are subject to change.
