Overview:

Fashion designer and community leader Jason Christopher Peters hosted his 6th Annual Christmas Community Event on December 13, 2025 — an inspiring holiday tradition that continues to grow in scale, impact, and generosity. This year, Peters partnered with Native Shoes, which made a significant donation of footwear that allowed the team to distribute over 500 pairs to children, families, and individuals across the community.

Brooklyn, NY – For six consecutive years, fashion designer and humanitarian Jason Christopher Peters has used the holiday season as a platform to give back, uplift, and unite the community. What began as a modest outreach effort has evolved into a highly anticipated annual event. It draws families from across the region — and this year’s celebration set a new milestone.

Native Shoes Steps Up With a Major Donation

The 2025 event received a powerful boost thanks to a generous contribution from Vancouver Based company Native Shoes. The company is a fast-growing footwear brand known for sustainability, comfort-focused design, and accessible pricing.

In January 2021, Native Shoes announced a leadership transition, promoting Kyle Housman from president to CEO, succeeding cofounder Scott Hawthorn, who transitioned to the role of executive chairman. The company, founded in 2009, has consistently emphasized environmental stewardship,
community impact through initiatives such as the Native Shoes Remix™
Project (which recycles worn shoes into community installations like playgrounds), and positive social change under its “Live Lightly” philosophy. Kyle Housman continues to serve as CEO, with the brand maintaining its focus on community impact programs, environmental stewardship, and nationwide philanthropy.

Native’s donation enabled Peters and his volunteer team to distribute over 500 pairs of shoes on the afternoon of December 13th alone. Families lined up with excitement as children received brand-new footwear. Many got them just in time for winter weather and holiday festivities.

A Designer with a Heart for Service

While Peters is widely recognized for his work in fashion, media, and creative direction, his community events have made an equally profound mark. His Christmas outreach has become a symbol of compassion, inclusivity, and the value of giving without expecting anything in return.

Each year, Peters uses his platform to gather partners, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters. He transforms fashion’s spotlight into a force for real-world impact.

A Celebration of Community

Attendees described the event as festive, warm, and full of genuine joy. Volunteers helped with distribution, parents browsed for sizes, and children walked away with smiles and brand-new shoes in hand. For many families, the gesture carried meaningful financial relief during an expensive time of year.

Peters said the mission remains simple: make sure people feel seen, supported, and appreciated during the holidays.

With the continued support of brands like Native Shoes and a growing base of community allies, Peters’ annual tradition is poised to expand even further.
