Public Safety Advisory
Presence News is issuing a community PSA regarding Frank Johnson, a Charleston, South Carolina resident associated with:
- Frank’s Auto Shop / Frank’s Hobby Shop
- 2556 Ashley River Rd, Building B, Charleston, SC 29414
- Last known residence: 6131 Fieldstone Circle, Charleston, SC
Presence News has monitored reports involving this individual for approximately three years. In 2025, as the newsroom expanded and legally rebranded, the organization began formally compiling incident reports submitted by residents, delivery personnel, and individuals with direct knowledge.
This advisory is for public awareness only and does not assert guilt.
1. Public Record: 2020 Dog Attack Lawsuit
One of the reports is supported by a publicly filed civil lawsuit in Charleston County Common Pleas Court:
Case No. 2022-CP-10-05925, filed January 9, 2023.
In the filing, Plaintiff Phillip Cook alleges he was attacked by two mixed-breed dogs on January 5, 2020, near 6131 Fieldstone Circle, a property Johnson was allegedly occupying at the time. The complaint asserts:
The injuries suffered were caused by the dogs “owned by the Defendants and under their care and keeping…”
The lawsuit is under South Carolina Code §47-3-110 and includes claims of negligence and recklessness.
As with all civil filings, the allegations have not been judicially resolved and represent the plaintiff’s claims only.
2. Second Independent Report: Alleged Threatening Remarks
Presence News has received a second first-hand account alleging that Mr. Johnson made intimidating statements, including references to a “Myrtle Beach biker gang.”
The individual interpreted these remarks as threatening.
This allegation has not been corroborated through official documentation.
3. Third Report: Additional First-Hand Account Submitted to Presence News
Presence News has also received an additional first-hand account alleging a 2023 incident at 6131 Fieldstone Circle. According to the witness, Mr. Johnson was allegedly consuming Modelo beer during the interaction and pointed a firearm at the individual. This report has not been corroborated by law enforcement and remains under review.
This report remains unverified through police records but is included due to its alignment with the pattern of community concerns.
4. Independent Reports From Unrelated, Credible Witnesses
Presence News has now received three independent first-hand reports, each from:
- A credible individual with 10+ years of experience in their professional field
- A financially stable or high-net-worth witness
- Someone with no connection to the other witnesses
- Someone working in a completely different industry
None of these individuals know each other, collaborate professionally, or share motives.
The independence and consistency of these accounts significantly reduce the possibility of coordinated bias.
Presence News continues to evaluate each statement individually and collectively.
5. Communication With Property Co-Tenant
Presence News has notified V-Dub Doctors, which shares commercial space at 2556 Ashley River Road, Building B, where Mr. Johnson performs auto-repair work.
Presence News will update this PSA if additional statements or clarifications are provided.
6. Request for Public Assistance
Because two allegations remain unverified by authorities and one exists only in civil court form, Presence News is inviting residents and community members to submit:
- Video footage
- Photos
- Police reports
- Delivery-driver accounts
- Neighbor observations
- Any documentation of similar interactions
Submit confidentially:
