Overview:

After six months of operation, Presence News has encountered its first major advertiser loss. The departing customer cited concerns that the outlet was leaning too much toward “gossip column” content rather than grounded, informative reporting. In response, Editorial Director Kasdyn Click issued a public statement expressing regret and reaffirming the publication’s commitment to growth, integrity, and accountability.

Presence News, a rising independent news platform, launched just six months ago. It has lost its first advertising partner following criticism over the tone and direction of its content.

The advertiser, whose name has not been disclosed, reportedly felt the publication’s recent stories leaned too heavily into “rumors and drama” rather than reliable journalism. The departure marks an early test for the fledgling outlet. It has quickly built an audience through bold reporting and contemporary cultural commentary.

In a statement responding to the advertiser’s feedback, Kasdyn Click, Editorial Director of Presence News, offered an apology. The statement also includes a candid reflection on the company’s editorial journey so far:

“I apologize — we’ve only been in business six months and are still learning the craft. You’re right. We’ll try to be more informative, and we promise: no more rumors or drama. Thank you so much for being a customer of ours and for helping us grow. Question. Can we do more animal articles? That is informative – the Koala video on our Facebook channel got over 10,000 views. ”

Click’s statement highlights Presence News’ open-door approach to feedback, emphasizing that constructive criticism plays a vital role in shaping a responsible media platform.

Approaching 2026

The publication began as a small digital newsroom focused on arts, culture, and world events. It has gained traction for its fast coverage of breaking stories and its willingness to explore controversial or trending topics. However, as Click acknowledged, balancing speed and sensitivity remains a constant challenge for emerging media outlets.

Moving forward, Presence News says it plans to refocus on deeper analysis, fact-checked reporting, and community-driven storytelling. They aim to inform rather than sensationalize.

Despite the setback, Click expressed gratitude for the advertiser’s early support and reaffirmed the publication’s mission:

“We’re grateful to everyone who’s been part of our journey so far. Growth doesn’t come without mistakes, and we’re committed to learning from them.”

Editor’s Note:

Presence News remains an independent publication and is dedicated to providing accurate, timely, and meaningful reporting. Reader and partner feedback are welcomed as part of the publication’s ongoing commitment to transparency and improvement. Update: Presence News no longer posting daily on our Tiktok Video Channel Account – TikTok is not paying us because we are a business page so we are not posting on there anymore – despite the Brian Deegan viral video that has gotten over 85,000 views now.
