Before the walk began, the park filled with music from a live DJ as participants gathered near the starting area. The speakers at the GirlTrek and NBA Total Health All-Star Walk shared their words of encouragement, empowerment, and the need to focus on personal and community health. The crowd greeted former NBA champion Pau Gasol with thunderous applause as one of the speakers.
