Iconic Costumes and Personal Artifacts

Continuing through the exhibition, one of the exhibition’s highlights features costumes Monroe wore in several of her best-known films. In addition, visitors can see the pajamas Monroe wore in The Seven Year Itch and the pink silk satin gown worn as Lorelei Lee in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Notably, the exhibition displays the peau d’ange (“angel’s skin”) silk satin dress beside a red heart-shaped couch and lantern-style lighting.
Furthermore, additional displays include costumes, film scripts, a typewriter, a director’s chair, and vintage film equipment.

Beyond the film costumes, the exhibition also has Monroe’s makeup, perfume, and a lighted vanity mirror used by actors on set. Among these artifacts, the exhibit displays photos of Monroe from different stages of her acting career next to the display.
Multimedia Displays Bring Hollywood History to Life
In addition to the physical artifacts, several multimedia exhibitions let people view scenes from films of Monroe. To begin with, there is a video presentation at the exhibition that plays all the time and captures some important scenes from Monroe’s film career. In addition, a black-and-white television is being used to show some important documents about her life.
Both items prove how Marilyn Monroe made an impact on American films and fashion. Overall, through such a collection of objects, one gets an insight into the life of Marilyn Monroe.
