The project is part of Metro’s larger effort to expand public transportation options throughout the city.

Riders Learn About New Transit Connections
Community members attending the event viewed maps showing the Mid-Wilshire connections and learned how Metro expects the extension to reduce travel times for commuters. According to Metro officials, the extension may help riders avoid traffic congestion. In addition, it may reduce transportation costs by using the subway instead of driving.
Metro Focuses on Accessibility and Connectivity
Metro officials say the expansion was designed to improve accessibility and strengthen connections between neighborhoods, including Koreatown and the Wilshire corridors. Also, they say the extension is intended to improve access to important locations for Los Angeles residents and visitors.

Many tourists took photographs, visited the station platforms, and learned about upcoming transportation improvements. Community engagement booths provided information on all areas of public transportation and community resources available to the public.
