HAWTHORNE, Calif. — On March 14, the Common Space Brewery Mardi Gras Event in Hawthorne featured live jazz music, vegan food vendors, and festive costumes that brought a touch of New Orleans culture to Southern California.

Live Jazz and Mardi Gras Atmosphere

While enjoying live jazz played by a New Orleans band, Festival visitors were dressed in bright Mardi Gras costumes. Jazz music created a laid-back and festive climate as festivalgoers sampled from various vendors’ plant-based food and drink offerings. Free parking made it easy for residents to access and attend the Festival.

Vegan Food Vendors Draw Attention

Creative Plant-Based Menu Options

Guests visiting Los Angeles Crêpe Du Jardin can have their fill of crêpes, including an option which is peanut butter with jelly crêpes, and topped with fresh strawberries, made from organic/plant-based ingredients. In addition, these types of crêpes can be topped with other types of fruits such as bananas or apples.

The Frankenstand has also been serving vegan hot dogs from a booth decorated with whimsical horror-themed decorations.

In addition, all three booths offered vegan baked goods such as organic croissants, éclairs, and French bread.

A Community Celebration

Live jazz and the aroma of vegan food filled the air as the Common Space Brewery Mardi Gras Event brought the community together in celebration of Mardi Gras.
