Prickly Monster Festival Brings Plant Lovers Together

On Sunday, May 24th, 2026, the second Prickly Monster Festival occurred at Common Space Brewery in Hawthorne, CA.  This festival brought all of the cactus and succulent lovers together for a great time.  From noon to 5 p.m., there were many different vendors selling cacti, succulents, hand-made pottery, and gardening supplies. Many people look forward to the Prickly Monster Festival each year because it celebrates all things cactus and creative plant artistry.

A Gathering for Cactus and Succulent Lovers

People who visited saw bright decorations with plants of all kinds. For instance, they could find tiny potted succulents and large, tall, spiny cacti in all sorts of shapes and textures. They also shopped at vendor booths, learned about the care of cacti and succulents, and found some rare varieties of these plants. The Prickly Monster Festival offered something for everyone who loved unique greenery and handmade garden goods.

The display of various vendors revealed a love for plants and gardening among exhibitors and visitors alike. Additionally, the Prickly Monster Festival created a space for the community to connect over their shared passion for succulents and cacti.

Vendors Showcase Rare Plants and Handmade Goods

Planter Collective had a wide range of succulents, cacti, and other indoor plants.

Plantastic Vibes Succulent Bar displayed products and accessories that promote succulent care.

Fresno Cactus and Succulent Society showcased a variety of plants and decorative pots and shared information about its community activities and seasonal plant sales.

Nopalitoz displayed different types of cacti, succulents, and agave plants alongside handmade ceramics.

Artist Miguel Pichardo also sold handcrafted pots created for plant lovers and collectors.

Shelby Pedro sold cacti and succulents.

Plant Clubs Build Community Connections

Members of the Long Beach Cactus Club spoke with attendees about their monthly meetings and the growing community of cactus enthusiasts. The club also sold cactus-themed T-shirts and tote bags. Moreover, the Prickly Monster Festival helped fans of rare plants meet like-minded friends and discover new favorites.

Green Touch Nursery participated in the festival with a variety of plants and gardening items.

Myfriendroze displayed handmade pots designed for cactus and succulent arrangements.

Inspiring New Plant Collectors

During the event, attendees had the chance to meet local plant vendors and learn creative ways to grow and nurture plants at home. The event appeared to inspire attendees interested in starting plant collections, and it provided an opportunity for many people to find out more about the growing plant community at the Prickly Monster Festival.
