Barbie Pop-Up Brings Fashion, Nostalgia, and Community to The Grove

From May 8–10 at The Grove in Los Angeles, the Barbie by Edikted pop-up event featured fashion displays and themed photo opportunities. In addition, collectible Barbie exhibits attracted guests dressed in pink attire.

Pink-Themed Entrance and Photo Opportunities

Outside the entrance to the Barbie-inspired event was a heart-shaped display of bright pink material. Meanwhile, fans were lining up for reserved entries while staff were passing out sticker packs, water bottles, and pink umbrellas. This helped keep visitors cool on a hot day.

Music and Interactive Experiences

A Barbie-themed photo backdrop near the entrance gave guests an opportunity to take pictures. Meanwhile, a live DJ played fast-paced pop music that contributed to the event’s energetic atmosphere.

Edikted x Barbie Fashion Displays

Visitors to the experience found pink-themed rooms with fashion mannequins displaying clothing from the recent Edikted x Barbie collaboration. In addition to the mannequins, there were displays of collectible Barbies from the 1990s and 2000s. As a result, this made for an immersive experience.

Guests Explore the Immersive Experience

The staff continued to guide guests (small groups) into separate areas of the pop-up. This enabled guests to interact with the displays at their own pace without overcrowding any one area. Many guests dressed in “Barbie” pink attire created an immersive environment. Consequently, this enhanced the visual aspects of the event from entrance to exit.

During the event, a number of guests stopped to look at clothing from different designers, and some even took photos next to the mannequins and the specific décor. With an abundance of light, a pastel color scheme, and custom-made sets, the guests also had lots of fun creating content for social media while exploring the exhibit.

All day long, there was a live DJ playing high-energy music to keep the crowd moving as they traveled between display and photo areas. In addition, staff also helped facilitate guest interaction by providing theme-related giveaways and assistance in navigating their experience.

Collectible Barbies Highlight Nostalgia

At the exhibit’s conclusion, the collectible Barbies captured many spectators. The collectible Barbies by decade display revealed fashion trend evolution of the Barbie brand, as well as providing evidence of the brand’s cultural influence. Ultimately, the overall sound, fashion, and nostalgia created an experience that appealed not only to Barbie’s long-term collectors. It also appealed to the younger generation who were being introduced to the Barbie brand through newer collaboration lines, such as Edikted x Barbie.
