LOS ANGELES, CA — The People 4 The People Nonprofit and Charlie’s Designs joined forces for the 2nd Annual Christmas in July on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at MacArthur Park in Los Angeles, bringing community members together for a day centered on compassion, service and giving back.

The People 4 The People Nonprofit, founded by Yusuf Scott, Rashad Todd and Johanna Faruq, is a family-founded organization dedicated to serving diverse communities through compassion, inclusion and service.

The organization’s mission includes uplifting individuals experiencing homelessness, supporting the LGBTQ+ community, advocating for mental health awareness, assisting children and families, and providing resources for people affected by HIV/AIDS, cancer and other health challenges. Through its programs and outreach, the nonprofit seeks to promote diversity, inclusion and emotional well-being while creating opportunities for people to give back to their communities.

For this year’s Christmas in July, The People 4 The People partnered with Charlie’s Designs, an award-winning fashion brand founded by 11-year-old designer Charlie LeRoy.

With the support of parents Jamie and Vince LeRoy, Charlie has embraced community service and philanthropy alongside her work in fashion. The partnership brought together two organizations with a shared vision of compassion, generosity and community involvement.

More Than 450 People Served

The 2nd Annual Christmas in July brought the spirit of the holiday season into the heart of summer by providing meals, beverages, hygiene kits, Narcan, toys and valuable community resources to individuals and families in need.

The event was created around a simple message: every person deserves to know that they are seen, valued and worthy of kindness and hope.

Thanks to the generosity of donors, volunteers, sponsors and community partners, more than 450 individuals were served during the 2026 event.

Organizers extended their gratitude to event sponsors Love My Neighbor Foundation and Health 4 Peace, whose support helped make the day possible.

The event was also made possible by volunteers who donated their time and energy to serving the Los Angeles community.

Briana Scott, Imani Goins, Ashley Ali-Perkins, Natalie LeRoy, Brandi Hunter, Achsah Xu, Sheila Kamienski, Dante Obligation, Val Arizaga, Wills Canga, Ike Onuoha, Josephine Zhang and Peter Allman.

Young Volunteers Learn the Importance of Giving Back

One of the meaningful parts of Christmas in July was seeing young volunteers participate alongside adults and families.

Organizers emphasized the importance of introducing children to community service at an early age, helping them understand the value of selflessness, compassion and taking action to make the world around them better.

“It is always great to see the youth come out and help. We’re teaching the children how to be selfless and make the world better at an early age.”

Special recognition goes to the following youth volunteers who gave their time to help the community:

Marshawn Mason, I’lani Mason, Marlii Mason, Amayah Perkins, Tye Perkins, I’Vori Hunter and Mimi Xu.

The People 4 The People and Charlie’s Designs also thanked the family members, friends, community partners and attendees who contributed to the success of the 2nd Annual Christmas in July.

Through each meal served, resource distributed and volunteer who stepped forward to help, the event demonstrated what can happen when people come together around a shared commitment to their community.

“Your generosity, compassion, and commitment to serving others continue to make a lasting impact in our community. Together, we are creating hope, spreading joy, and making a difference with one act of kindness at a time.”
