From Vampire Slayers to Aliens to Ghostbusters: New York Comic Con Had Everything
Superheroes, Slayers, and Sci-Fi Icons Unite
Could you imagine a place where superheroes, Ghostbusters, Star Wars, Star Trek, monsters, anime characters, X-Men, vampire slayers, and even animated bears gather together under one roof? That dream became reality this past weekend at New York Comic Con 2025.
From October 9–12, thousands of cosplayers, collectors, and pop culture enthusiasts filled the Jacob K. Javitz Convention Center in Manhattan. The four-day event marked the 19th annual NYCC, drawing some of the biggest names in entertainment — from legendary actors to rising voice talents.
Ghostbusters Galore
Who ya gonna call? At NYCC, no phone was necessary — the Ghostbusters cast came to you.
Both Annie Potts and Ernie Hudson made guest appearances, thrilling fans of the beloved paranormal comedy franchise. Their on-screen chemistry and iconic lines continue to resonate decades after the first film’s release.

Also spotted at the convention was Tara Strong, the acclaimed voice actress behind Extreme Ghostbusters’ character Kylie Griffin. She joined Annie Potts for a fan-favorite moment shared by Ghostbusters News on Instagram.
From Busting Ghosts to Battling Aliens
If busting ghosts wasn’t enough, Sigourney Weaver brought intergalactic action to the convention floor. Best known for her legendary role as Ellen Ripley in the Alien film franchise, Weaver teased fans with exciting updates about a potential new Alien story.
“Walter Hill is a very good friend of mine, and he wrote about 50 pages where Ripley would be now,” Weaver revealed during a panel. “They are quite extraordinary. I don’t know if it’s going to happen, but I’ve had a meeting with Fox — or Disney, or whoever it is now.”

Buffy Meets the Bears
From vampires to animated bears, Sarah Michelle Gellar also made a splash at this year’s Comic Con. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star appeared with her Breaking Bear co-stars Elizabeth Hurley, Brendan Fraser, and Annie Murphy to promote the new animated Tubi series.
The cast discussed bringing comedic chaos to the screen — this time in animated form — and gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming show.

The convention floor was packed with panels, new trailers, comic book creators, and exclusive merchandise reveals. And of course, NYCC’s famous cosplay contest delivered yet another round of jaw-dropping creativity and crowd favorites.
