LITCHFIELD, CT — The Litchfield Hills Rowing Club (LHRC) will host its inaugural Regatta to End ALZ on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Bantam Lake, bringing together rowers, families, businesses, and community members in support of the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.

The fundraising event will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association, helping to advance research, provide support for families affected by the disease, and increase public awareness of Alzheimer’s nationwide.
Organizers say the event is designed to be more than just a day of racing.
“This regatta is about honoring loved ones, protecting memories, and standing together in the fight to end Alzheimer’s,” event organizers said.
The morning begins with arrivals at 8:30 a.m., followed by Opening Ceremonies at 9:00 a.m. Racing is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m., with Closing Ceremonies at 10:15 a.m. From 10:30 a.m. until noon, attendees are invited to enjoy an open house featuring tours of the Litchfield Hills Rowing Club boathouse, educational exhibits, refreshments, and community activities.

- 10:30 a.m. – Noon – Open House, Food Truck, Booths & Boathouse Tours
Throughout the event, visitors will have the opportunity to explore several community exhibits, including:
- Litchfield Hills Rowing Club Tent featuring athlete meet-and-greets and rowing information.
- Alzheimer’s Association Tent highlighting research, education, and available support services.
- Parents Association Hospitality Tent offering coffee, donuts, and refreshments.
- Giving Tent with information about supporting Alzheimer’s research and patient care.
- Food truck serving lunch and refreshments.
- Participation from Litchfield Distillery in support of the fundraising effort.
Organizers hope the event will unite athletes, families, alumni, businesses, and local residents behind a shared mission to help end Alzheimer’s disease.
Those unable to participate in the races are still encouraged to support the cause through donations and by helping spread awareness. Individuals who contribute $50 or more will receive a limited-edition Founding Supporter Commemorative Button while supplies last.
