Overview:

B&B Theatres Ridgeland Northpark 14 hosted a Scream-themed trivia night as part of its weekly Tuesday Game Night series. The event challenged participants on their knowledge of the long-running horror franchise ahead of its newest installment, while continuing the theater’s effort to bring the community together through interactive entertainment.

Weekly Game Night Draws Movie Lovers

RIDGELAND — Horror fans gathered Tuesday evening at B&B Theatres Ridgeland Northpark 14 for a special “Scream” Movie Trivia Night. It was part of the theater’s ongoing weekly Game Night series designed to engage the community beyond the big screen. The weekly trivia night has grown in popularity among local horror fans.

Teams filled tables inside the theater’s lounge area. They leaned over answer sheets and quietly debated questions about one of horror’s most recognizable franchises. Pens moved quickly as participants worked through rounds centered on the history, characters, and key moments of the “Scream” films.

The themed trivia night was held in anticipation of the franchise’s newest installment, giving fans an opportunity to refresh their knowledge before returning to theaters.

Building Community Through Entertainment

According to Charles Pate, manager of B&B Theatres Ridgeland Northpark 14, Game Night has become a weekly staple.

“We host game night every Tuesday,” Pate said. “We do BINGO and trivia, and it’s basically around the things in the movies that are coming out or whatever topic is popular in the music industry at that time. Also, we have general music BINGO and general trivia. This week we have ‘Scream,’ and that’s to get the new movies that we do have coming out to the public.”

The goal, Pate explained, is to create an interactive experience that brings guests together in a relaxed, social setting. Meanwhile, this also builds excitement around current and upcoming releases. The event aims to bring local fans together in a shared setting.

Rather than simply watching a trailer or looking at a poster, fans become active participants by remembering the plot points, quotes, and characters from the series.

A Test of Franchise Knowledge

Tuesday’s trivia focused specifically on the legacy of the “Scream” series, challenging even longtime fans.

“The ‘Scream’ trivia was basically a test of the history of the franchise to get them prepared for the new ‘Scream’ that’s coming out,” Pate said.

Throughout the night, participants compared answers, shared theories and celebrated correct responses. The atmosphere was casual but competitive.

Theaters are trying to offer more than just going to the movies, and game nights like this are a part of that effort. Organizers say the goal is to create a shared experience for local fans.

Looking Ahead to the Next Release

For Pate, the upcoming “Scream” film is something he’s personally anticipating.

“I’m a little excited about it. I’m looking forward to it,” he said.

The long-running horror franchise has remained a staple of the genre for decades. It has drawn multiple generations of fans. Events like Tuesday’s trivia night allow longtime viewers and newer audiences alike to connect over a shared appreciation for the films.

How to Attend

Game Night is held every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at B&B Theatres Ridgeland Northpark 14. Themes rotate weekly and may include movie-based trivia, general trivia, or music BINGO.

Updated information about upcoming themes is available on the theater’s Facebook page.

As the crowd filed out Tuesday night, answer sheets in hand and discussions still alive with talk of their favorite moments from the series, the night was a reminder that for many, the movie experience begins long before the opening credits roll.
