Residents Enjoy a Day of Connection
Families with children participated in the outdoor activities while groups of friends and neighbors spent time talking and enjoying the afternoon together. Guests had opportunities to participate in different activities by moving from one activity to the next, as well as listening to music, and visiting businesses that were supportive of this event. Several guests commented that they were excited that so many of the residents in the community participated in the event.
Volunteers, along with the organizers, worked together to coordinate all of the many activities throughout the day. The relaxed atmosphere allowed residents to meet and build relationships with new people and spend time with their neighbors in a laid-back manner, through the various games and events organized by the community.
Volunteers and Businesses Support Event
The café aims to create a relaxing and inviting space for families, friends, and neighbors to connect with one another. Several nearby restaurants and businesses also participated in supporting the event, including Mickey’s, Bolt, Hermosa Smoke and Gift Shop, Uncle Stavros, and Yellow Jersey.
Guests who completed the Sandlot Social course had the opportunity to win a $500 Good Neighbors gift card.
