Mooney M20J 201 Skids to a hault Landing at Houston’s David Wayne Hooks Memorial Airport

HOUSTON — A Mooney M20J 201 made an emergency gear-up landing at David Wayne Hooks Memorial Airport (DWH/KDWH) on Saturday, August 9. This occurred after the aircraft’s landing gear failed to deploy.

The aircraft touched down on runway 35L and slid to a stop without the propeller making contact with the pavement. Observers noted that the absence of prop damage could mean the plane remains repairable. No injuries were reported.

The tip about the incident was provided to Presence News by FSX Aviation. Video of the landing shows the aircraft maintaining a steady glide path before smoothly settling onto the runway belly-first.
